New Experiences

a short play by David Douglas

Length: 10 minutes; 9 pages
Genre: romance, comedy
Cast: 1 man, 1 woman

It's an average morning. Manny is just returning home, Dawn is running late for a yoga class, and their marriage is in a rut. What they need are new experiences.

About the Play

New Experiences was originally written during Rover Dramawerks’ One Day Only 29 festival, in which five playwrights each have around 7 hours to complete a 10-minute play based on a concept drawn from a hat. The next night, the plays are produced in front of an audience. One Day Only literally means: “concept to curtain in 24-hours.” David’s randomly drawn concept was “drunk yoga.”
